The Street Artists of Bogota

Location: Bogota, Colombia.

In 2011, a young graffiti artist was shot dead by law enforcement while he was tagging a wall.  Public outcry caused the city to downgrade the offense.  Street art became not only “legal” but in many places encouraged.

While much of the street art is lighthearted and fun, some has a serious message.  Both student protesters and unnamed artists use art on the streets as a medium to protest corruption and social justice.
